Drink Coffee Like Your Life Depends on It, because a New Study Says it Does
Some say it is the fountain of youth and now we know exactly how many cups we need each day to live longer. All signs point to a daily need to keep that coffee pot going.
People aged 40 and participated in a study that found death was lowered by those who drank more than three cups of coffee per day. According to The Korea Herald, “Scientists tracked the patients’ daily coffee intake and death rate for an average of 9.1 years. Individuals already diagnosed with diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer were not included in the study.”
The study was published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
The other good news that that the study found was that it didn’t matter what type of coffee was consumed, as instant, straight black and 3 in 1 (coffee, sugar and cream) all benefitted in more years added to their lives and had a reduced risk of death by cardiovascular disease than non-coffee drinkers.
The people who try to say that coffee and caffeine aren’t good for you, probably relish in decaf and likely won’t outlive you at this point. Drink up, buttercup. Your health and years on this planet may depend on it.
Make This Drink if You’re Feeling Catty
Chill – The weekend isn’t quite here yet, but this recipe is ideal anytime of the day. Maybe your sweettooth needs a fix, or maybe the days feel like they’re all running together endlessly, and it feels like a long string of Mondays every damn day.
With just 5 ingredients you likely have on hand already, you’ll take the fast track to sipping something sweet on the fly. This one is great for “responsible” adults who want to add in some Kahlua, Bailey’s or Amaretto for an imaginary trip to the famous Parisian cathouse without the hassle of leaving home. This recipe is inspired by a frosted coffee float recipe that MSN shared, but I’ve added in some spirits to make it real boo-zy, just because that’s how Lady Marmalade would probably make it. Me-ow…

Here’s Another Reason to Love Coffee - Your Brain Will Thank You
Another study just proved the magical stuff we need in the morning isn’t all just all a dream. The stuff we crave is good for our brains, regardless of what negative Nancy’s opinion of caffeine is. Pass me another cup because decaf is for quitters, anyway.
The study, conducted by the University of Minho School of Medicine in Portugal, explores the in-depth detail effect of drinking coffee and “highlights the improvements caffeine has of the motor control, the increase of the levels of attention and alertness, and also benefits in the learning and the memory.”
This explains why regular coffee drinkers feel so good after consuming it! Coffee really is the secret of living your best life.
The study went on to explain that “These differences in our brain, observed among those who drink coffee regularly, were also noticed in the group of people who do not drink coffee after consuming a cup of coffee.”
Coffee helps us to focus, learn and remember. Got it.
Keep the coffee coming and act like we didn’t already need yet another reason to love coffee even more than we already do.
What in the Hell? A Hot Sauce for Coffee, Apparently
We know there is all sorts of coffee additives out there but this one just made me hot - literally. There is a Kickstarter campaign going on right now for a hot sauce for coffee. What in the in the hell?
Ujjo, will come in both a light roast and dark roast and states “it’s seriously delicious on all kinds of things.” I doubt many will believe that, but hey, taste is subjective. There is already 190 backers currently all in and get kick up their cup and the campaign has almost doubled its goal. Hot.
Could this be like drinking orange juice after brushing your teeth? Who knows until we know.
This reminds me of a bad triple dog dare and I’m here for it. I have to admit, I was tempted enough that I decided to ‘play with fire’ and back it.
