Please Don’t Kiss the Chickens
Hey there, cowboy. Don’t kiss or snuggle your poultry.
This recent warning comes from the CDC who wants to warn the public that “Backyard poultry, like chicken and ducks, can carry Salmonella germs even if they look healthy and clean. These germs can easily spread to anything in the areas where they live and roam.”
The CDC also advises not to let children under 5 years old touch any kind of back yard poultry. If memory serves me correctly, what kid would want to come anywhere near yard bird at that young age. These birds are relentless, are scary as hell, and are just one of the reasons I pissed my pants after being chased by one myself.
Remember, chickens evolved and are modern day dinosaurs, so that should serve as a good reminder of what you’re messing with regardless of it living in your backyard or in the wild. Perhaps leave the chicken affection to the professionals, who already are quite aware of what living a fowl life is truly all about.
